Q & A
Find below the answers to our frequently asked questions:
Simulators
- How do I arrange the simulator training as part of my course? Please contact the simulator providers for further information. They will provide an estimate on a case-by-case basis.
- What are the requirements for a simulator to be certified by EFNARC?
The VR-simulator must have a minimum of ten (10) predefined scenarios that fulfill the specification. It must be recognized by three (3) EFNARC Examiners representing at least three (3) different companies, and records must show ten (10) individuals have successfully trained on it.
- What cost is involved with the simulator training?
Multiple factors (number of participants, need of training personnel, location etc.) affect the cost of the simulator training, so the simulator providers will provide an estimate on a case-by-case basis for Examiners.
Practical session
- What is involved in the practical session (Module 4)? The Examiner must conduct a practical session for a maximum of 8 attendees using handheld spraying equipment and sprayed concrete (dry or wet method). It covers pre-application checks, startup, application, shutdown, troubleshooting, and health and safety.
- What are the concrete spraying requirements for attendees during the practical session?
All attendees must each spray a test panel according to EN 14488-1 (or an applicable local standard). Alternatively, they must spray a surface area of a minimum of 1.0 m² with a minimum thickness of 30 mm.
-Can I evaluate a practical session for a colleague who works at my company?
No. To ensure assessment objectivity, Examiners are permitted to train their colleagues for Modules 1–3, but they are strictly prohibited from conducting the practical assessment (Module 4) for individuals working in the same company or group.
Certification & Exams
- What is the format of the Module 3 theory exam?
It is an online examination consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions randomly selected from the EFNARC database, making each exam unique.
- What is the minimum passing score for the online exam?
Individuals must correctly answer at least twenty-six (26) of the thirty (30) questions to attain a pass mark.
- Are there any language options available for the theory exam?
Yes, the exam can be taken in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Italian, and German. Additional languages can be requested with a minimum lead time of 8 weeks.
- How do the attendees of my course receive the certification?
Once an Examiner has requested a certificate and EFNARC evaluates the records to verify all required modules are passed, EFNARC will issue a stamped PDF version of the certificate via email to the Examiner. The Examiner then distributes it to the attendees.
Costs & Pricing
- What cost is involved with the certification process?
For a new course, EFNARC charges 225 Euro per attendee. For a certificate renewal, EFNARC charges 150 Euro per attendee.
- What is included in the Administration fee?
The fee covers all administration costs linked to the certification process, including participant registration, the online exam, and the issuance of the certificate.
- What happens if an attendee does not pass or decides not to apply, is the fee refundable?
No, refunds are not applicable after the registration process has begun.
- What is the price I need to charge the attendees for the course? The prices for attending a course are individually set by the Examiners or Course providers offering it. You are free to factor in your own services, location, and simulator estimates.
