The Certificate
The Nozzleman Certificate/Assessment is carried out by Examiners who assesses experienced Nozzlemen (min. 3 years) on their theoretical and practical skills at their worksite. The Examiner has wide experience of underground construction and sprayed concrete (min. 5 years) and has been accredited by EFNARC through attending a Examiner assessment course.
The Nozzleman Assessment is not a training course. The Nozzleman is expected to have a high level of competence before applying to be assessed. There is however material that the Nozzleman should be taught prior to the assessment, in order to get more in-depth and theoretical knowledge.
The assessment
The Nozzleman Assessment is planned to take place during a full day. It may however be a part of a longer training session, not connected to EFNARC. The assessment is typically done at a worksite where office facilities are used for the theory session and test. Later the Examiner assesses the Nozzleman’s practical skills, hence a robot, tunnel and concrete needs to be available.
The emphasis during the practical assessment is pre-application tasks, start-up procedure, spraying application procedure, shut-down and troubleshooting procedures, as well as HSE.
